Kentucky Explorer

I wanted to give another mention to one of my favorite magazines, the Kentucky Explorer.  This month's edition is a great one!  I love the cover, by the way!  There are a couple of good ghost stories for Halloween, and an odd but interesting article on Abe Lincoln's mom!  Oh, and I love all of the old photos and postcards that they always show.

What did it say about Abe Lincoln's mom? Rumor has it that she is from Western North Carolina.

Hey Jacob..... The article on Nancy Hanks is an odd one. It discusses the debate about who Nancy's father (Abe's grandfather) was. There is mention in the article of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina!

Yes, I had read that she did not know who her father was and that her mother passed the last name "Hanks" onto her. Also, she is related to Tom Hanks.

I am hoping to take a trip to Bostic, NC where they have a museum dedicated to proving that Lincoln was born in NC

Jacob, I LOVE all things Lincoln, and have visited about every site associated with the man, but all of this is news to me! Bostic just got added to my bucked list!
