Bragg Farm Sugarhouse and Gift Shop, Vermont

We visited several maple syrup sugarhouses while we explored Vermont, and the Bragg Farm Sugarhouse and Gift shop was probably our favorite.

You really can't go wrong with any of them but this one had a very clean and friendly vibe.  I mentioned in a previous post that we called before we drove out, and a very friendly lady gave us directions, and a nice suggestion for lunch!

When we arrived we did a tasting of the Bragg's syrup, and we watched a film about how the maple is collected and made.  The one thing that really impressed me was the fact that the Bragg family is working on their EIGHTH generation of syrup producers!  I am not aware of any other American business that has been going for that long!

This was also our first stop that involved eating a "creemee", which I believe is just soft serve maple ice cream.  We had a few more on our journey, and I am craving one right now!

We were able to see where the maple syrup making process occurs.  In the sugarhouse, there are also huge stacks of bucks used in the collection process.

Driving around the pleasant state of Vermont, stopping at sugarhouses for creemees and syrup sampling is a great way to spend a vacation!
