Colonial Park Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia

Here are a few pictures we took while strolling through the Colonial Park Cemetery one morning in Savannah.

I think every tour guide mentions this one.  Colonial Park is right in the middle of everything in Savannah.

Burials were closed off here before the Civil War, but the cemetery does have a Civil War connection.  According to several tour guides we heard on the Old Towne Trolley Tours, Union soldiers (specifically, Sherman's) camped out here.  While they camped out, they vandalized a lot of the markers, mostly changing dates.  The tour guides said that some people were marked as being born after they died.  Some people apparently lived several hundred years.  We did not see any of these altered stones.
