Hawaii reminded me of the 70s.

We got off the plane, got our rental car and drove to our friend's house.  Again, the traffic and drivers were fine.  We went out for dinner, and I saw something that was somewhat of a relic- PAYPHONES!  I would see several payphones on our trip.

In addition to all of the sunny beach goodness going on in Hawaii, there is also a VERY retro vibe.  I saw a LOT of things that reminded me of earlier decades, ESPECIALLY the 70s.  Strip malls, businesses, restaurants and houses all had a throw back feel.

I felt like places had been kept up, and well maintained, but there was something so coolly outdated about everything too.
