Old Market- Omaha Nebraska

I really love the Old Market area of Omaha.

It is known for being in the cool old historic warehouse part of the city, and for its fun mix of shops and restaurants.

The area does remind me of the Bardstown Road area of Louisville, but it is a little easier to navigate and drive through.  The Coventry area of Cleveland might be a more accurate comparison though it is still not exact.

The area is very photogenic.  There is fun and unique art everywhere.

There are great indy music shops, antique and old toy stores, and quality restaurants.

The place has a very distinct Omaha feel with sincere local businesses.  I don't think I noticed a single chain store.

No one approached me about giving them change, or trying to give me a pamphlet.  Most are here to relax and have a good time, but not too rowdy of a time.

Nebraska in general has a very friendly casual vibe.  It is relaxed.  I noticed the locals were friendly but not too pushy.  I really get the appeal of the state, and it really shows in the Old Market area of Omaha.
