A very nice fellow came out and talked to us while we were there. He let us know that he and his wife have owned the hotel for 30 years! We ended up having a long chat with him, and he showed us around the place.
He told us that he actually met his wife at Jerry's in Lexington! They have been married for over 50 years!
We felt very lucky to have him give us a brief tour. The hotel has been there since 1901 and they try to keep it as time period accurate as they can!There is a bar in the back and the hotel is connected to a lovely art gallery.
We were told that there was a recent Washington Post article and the hotel was called the 2nd most haunted hotel in America! We asked if the owner thought the hotel was haunted. We got the feeling that he really didn't, but he was OK with people saying that it was.
Rates are very reasonable at the Lowe, and the place is so unique!
