We flew from Lexington to Atlanta and we had about a 3 hour lay over in Atlanta. So far so good. We had a good time at the airport in Atlanta, there are some nice shops, and we had a nice breakfast sandwich from one of them. I guess, after getting up early and already covering some miles, this was a nice area for a break.
We got on our next plane for the flight from Atlanta to Honolulu. I think this flight was somewhere around 9 hours, but we made good time.
The thought of a nearly 9 hour flight (actually 2 of them, one on the way there, and one on the way back) was kind of stressing me out. That's a LOT of time in the air!
The flights ended up being pleasant. Frankly, I would say that I enjoyed them. I had a couple of books to read, and I watched some movies.
The movies ended up being very nice. I think I read somewhere that Delta has about 300 to choose from, and that sounds about right. On the way over I watched "Loving Vincent" which was a great, sweet film. I really liked this one. I then watched "Dunkirk" which seemed appropriate with our upcoming visit to Pearl harbor. Lastly, I watched "The Time Traveler's Wife" which was a very cool sci-fi romance kind of movie. I don't remember this one coming out at all... but I really liked it too.
The flight crew was great on this one too. They passed out eye covers, headphones, coffee, water, snacks, and even a couple of impressive flight meals. I had a nice turkey sandwich early in the flight. A little before the flight ended, they passed some delicious hot boxed flat bread pizza meals that were really appreciated.
Again, this ended up being an enjoyable flight! Thanks Delta!
