"Being Ethel (In a world that loves Lucy)" by Michele Olson

I have almost exhausted my entries on my last trip to Michigan....  but I am still thinking about it.  Michigan is a great state.  And, as I mentioned, we spent a few wonderful days on Mackinac Island.

I was lucky enough to find several books while there (there are some cool book shops on the island too!).  I found TWO fiction books, both set in 1979....  Of course the books are fictional stories set while filming for "Somewhere in Time" was taking place.

We picked up the Christian Fiction book, "Being Ethel (In a world that loves Lucy)" by Michele Olson.  This was a cute, fun read.  It is the story of a lady who inherits a building on Mackinac Island, and she has to stay there for 3 months in part of the deal.  She gets involved with the locals, meeting several people that affect her stay.  Some are good, and some are bad.

The book reads a lot like a Hallmark movie.  There are some conflicts, and the main character is not sure if the man she has been dating is honest or not.  She gets involved in the filming of the movie, watches Lucy each week with a kind nun, and she is unsure if she will move to the island or sell her recently acquired property.

Even if you are not someone who reads "Christian Fiction", but you love the Island, I think this would be a fun read for ya.
