Gray Barker- "The Silver Bridge"
Well, Point Pleasant is just a cool, neat, and weird town. Its a great town for fans of the paranormal, its a cool place for people that love folklore, and its just a warm small town.
I've read John Keel's "Mothman Prophasies" a couple of times, and the story is freaky. If you are a believer or not, its just a good, strange book.
So, I found a copy of Gray Barker's "The Silver Bridge" which is somewhat of a sibling book to Keel's. In many ways, I kinda felt like I was reading the whole basic Mothman story again.
Still, this is a must read for students of the Mothman. I would love to hear from others who have dug deeper into the tale.... Anybody else have any thoughts on this one?
Mothman, Keel and Barker are all some crazy rabbit holes to jump into.

I found this old postcard of Liberty Field in Indianapolis recently! It really made me miss baseball! I know most minor league parks did not have a lot going on this year.Sunday, November 29, 2020

Custer State Park SD 09 07 2020
Believe the hype when it comes to Custer State Park in South Dakota. This is one of the main attractions in the state, and I can see why. You will see a ton of animals when you drive through! It is in a class all to itself.
Check out the video that I posted to youtube!Monday, November 2, 2020
Mt Rushmore SD 09 10 2020
AND, for the second year in a row, and for the third time in less than a decade, we visited South Dakota AND Mt. Rushmore!
Using that discount, I picked up the last 2 Borglum bookends I needed to complete my set. I have talked about the book ends at length on my blog and in the videos... and they are very special to me. My mom actually asked to pay for them as an early Christmas present! We also bought a very cool mini blocks Rushmore kit that you can put together yourself. I thought this would be fun for my family. My wife ended up putting the whole thing together and she is wanting some of the other kits now.Sunday, November 1, 2020
The LAST ISSUE of the Kentucky Explorer!!!
Not too long ago, they published an email I sent them about my visit, with my dad, to the Kentucky Bend. My dad, who also loved the Kentucky Explorer, was very happy to see the pictures I took of him at the Bend published in the great magazine! I was glad my dad got to see that before he passed away.
This has been such a great, scrappy magazine. It is newsprint, but they have always packed a TON into each issue. At $2.50 an issue cover price, it has always been a bargain.
I hope something else comes along to replace it. I have no doubt that the publisher never got rich from it- they were making it out of love for Kentucky history and Kentuckians.
They mentioned in this last issue that Kentucky Monthly will be honoring remaining subscriptions for Kentucky Explorer subscribers.
