We visited all of the sites, AND we stepped into the very nice local visitor center. A nice fellow running the place let us know that the town does a FREE John Brown walking tour! Well, we had already done our own tour, so we passed on this. For the record, another couple staying at the same inn as us told us that they did the walking tour, and it was incredible!
We did notice references to Brown everywhere. It seems that there is an "Abolitionist" brewery!
Anyway, here are a few photos from around town. I think the most interesting site, the hanging site, is now in a private yard. There is a historic marker there, and a short fence around the yard..... but the actual site is simply in a yard. Kids were riding bikes nearby, locals drove by... but yeah. Its just in a yard.
