Hi, I am Jim, I love Kentucky, and traveling in and around Kentucky! I also love the entire country, and all of the beautiful and strange places here and there! This blog covers the overlooked, forgotten, and underrated places, people, and moments in history in America, with a focus on Kentucky! It will cover great tourists stops, books about people and history, and include photos and postcard scans.

The White House
The top card was sent from Washington to a friend in Indiana in 1939. The sender had just returned to their hotel from a walk to the White House!
The South Front postcard reads:
"This historic building stands today practically as its designer, James Hoban, planned it, on the same site designed by Major L'Enfant in his original Federal City plans. Exclusive of its terraced galleries on either side, it is 70 feet long, 85 feet wide and 58 feet high."
I took the photo at the bottom just a few weeks ago!
